Public consultation on contract rules for online purchases

The European Commission has published a public consultation on contract rules for online purchases of digital content and tangible goods. The purpose of this public consultation is to collect interested parties' views on the possible ways forward to remove contract law obstacles related to the online purchases of digital content and tangible goods. Contributions from citizens, organisations and public authorities are welcome.

Application for CoE Crystal Scales of Justice Prize now open

The 8th edition of the Council of Europe Prize “Crystal Scales of Justice” for innovative practices contributing to the quality of justice is being organized. The aim of the prize is to identify and promote innovative practices regarding the conduct of proceedings, court organisation and the functioning of court systems in general. To be eligible for consideration, the practices nominated must have been implemented recently and they should be easily usable by other States or jurisdictions. Their efficiency must be measurable.

Italian CSM starts mandate

In September 2014 the new members of the Consiglio Superiode della Magistratura started their four-year mandate. Under Italy'sConstitution the CSM is the self-government body of the judiciary; it is competent for recruitment, allocation, transfer, promotion, and disciplinarymeasures in respect of magistrates.
