By letter of  5th June 2018 the ENCJ President accepted the invitation for a courtesy visit of the Hungarian National Judicial Council (OBT) due to take place on 10 July 2018.

The visit will provide an opportunity for the ENCJ delegation to get acquainted with the new Members oof the OBT and to learn about recent developments in Hungary, in particular in relation to the judiciary.

The lettter also explains that a recent interview with the new President that was published, did not reflect his actual words. The ENCJ was not asked to intervene by the OBT. The ENCJ is a network of co-operation and assists its Members in promoting independent, accountable and high-quality judiciaries through dialogue and collaboration.
